5 Tips for Teaching Kids about Money

Most people believe parents should be eaching children about finances - but research suggests that's not happening.

The National Financial Educators Council administers a 30-question financial literacy test to participants 10 and up in all 50 states each year.  Kansas teens ages 15 to 18 averaged 59% on the test, slightly lower than the teen national average of 62%.

Credit Score

Healthy credit is a key component for processes like mortgages, auto loans and qualifying for a new job. A FICO score, which measures credit, is only a small piece of the credit pie; but it is an important one.

Elder Abuse

Financial exploitation of the elderly is a form of abuse that is growing in numbers. An alarming number of people know someone who has been scammed out of money in some way due to age vulnerability.
